The Milstein family has a long-standing commitment to education and youth. Irma Milstein has provided major support to Bank Street College of Education, one of the premier teacher training institutions in the U.S., and supported many other educational programs, such as the American Museum of Natural History’s Moveable Museum. Paul Milstein focused on advancing the real estate and architecture professions by funding world-class facilities and programs at Cornell and Columbia Universities. Together they enabled such grand-scale projects as the restoration of the fabled “Whale Room” at the American Museum of Natural History and the construction of Paul Milstein Hall, a new home for Cornell University’s undergraduate architecture program.
